Cape Cod Gymnastics

Yesterday we had a fantastic time at Cape Cod Gymnastics in Yarmouthport.  The staff there was wonderful and the kids just loved them!  We had Kyle’s mom, Mary meet us there and she took tons of pictures.  If you get a chance check out our photo album! 

HOLIDAY BRUNCH

The Children’s College Annual Holiday Brunch

(11:00-1:00)

On Friday, December 21^st, we will be transforming the gym into a Holiday dining room for seating all of you! During this time we welcome you and your families and friends to join us. We will provide finger sandwiches and juice. We welcome any additional tasty delicacies. There is a sign-up sheet above your child’s artbox! Please indicate the food dish you will be bringing and the number of people attending.

Preparing your child for the Holidays / End of the Semester:

The combination of the excitement of the approaching holidays and the end of the school semester for many of us brings on a stressful period which our children often reflect.  Just when you need more time to prepare for the holidays or more study time, your children are least able to give you this time.  In mirroring your own tension, their energy level also increases.  Unfortunately there is no simple remedy to this problem.  Anticipating and understanding their “hyperstate” is a good start.  In addition, strive for a consistent routine with regular and reasonable bedtime.  No matter how stressed you become, try to keep their bedtime and morning rituals the same, such as reading the same number of stories each night and so forth.  A child can handle a lot of stress if the end of the day remains predictable.

SUMMER KICK OFF

Our summer program will officially starts this week. We have wonderful adventures planned! Some of the opportunities your child will experience are arts and crafts, music, sports, games, nature hikes, picnics, visitors and field trips (there is an additional fee per a trip). The days that we stay here on campus are held in more of a camp like format. We have a more loosely structured schedule with the exception of the time we leave for fieldtrips. Please refer to the Summer schedule.

Sprinkler days will be held once a week! Please have your child wear their bathing suit under their clothes and send in a towel and a dry set of clothes for them to put on after the water fun!

Here are a few tips for summer fun

1. Water shoes are required for swimming in the pool and running through the sprinklers. State regulations require that children’s feet are always protected.

2. Remember to sunscreen your child every morning. We will reapply later on in the afternoon if needed

3. Sneakers are required for ALL fieldtrips.
