SUMMER PROGRAM BEGINS

Thornton W. Burgess Society fieldtrip

Today we went on a field trip to Thornton Burgess Green Briar Nature Center in Sandwich, MA.  “We had a funny guy named Phil that took us around.”  It was a  terrific naturalist led exploration of the pond, bog and forest.  Our guide caught frogs in the bog and took us on a scavenger hunt in the woods.  What a great adventure!  “We also saw swams and the mama was protecting her babies while the daddy was swimming.”  

We saw lots of different birds and chipmunks, and rabbits.   We listened to the sounds of nature and explored signs through actual chewed nuts, acorns, pinecones and twigs.
